British Columbia has been talking about the value-added wood manufacturing industry for decades.

It’s time to take action to ensure the industry has a guaranteed supply of wood.

To the members of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia:

The petition of the undersigned Citizens of the Province of British Columbia, states that: 

The B.C. value-added wood manufacturing industry:

    • Creates more B.C. jobs for every tree harvested;
    • Supports local communities and businesses;
    • Provides opportunities for Indigenous communities;
    • Manufactures climate friendly, 100% natural products; and
    • Maximizes the value from every log processed in B.C.

But the lack of guaranteed access to a supply of wood puts thousands of jobs, the viability of local communities and businesses, and opportunity for First Nations, at risk. 

Your petitioners respectfully request that the Members of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia take action to ensure a guaranteed supply of wood for British Columbia’s value-added wood manufacturing industry.
